 We are Ian Thomson and Liz Pugh.
We are married and have two gorgeous golden retrievers:
Guinnie and Lance.
We are originally from the UK but moved to Australia
in 1996.
We both worked in the IT industry for more years
than we care to remember.
The pay was good but the hours were long and we
didn’t feel like we were getting anywhere. We managed
to get a huge mortgage and large car loans and thought
we were doing well. We weren’t!
Fortunately we saw the error of our ways. Liz went on
a training course run by John Burley and helped Ian to understand
that things needed to change – starting with selling his
car!
We used the cash together with the equity in our house
to buy our first investment property. That was seven years
ago. Since then we have gone on to buy and sell many more
properties. At the time, our focus was on using property
to give us cashflow. This enabled Liz to give up her IT
work and focus on our investments.
Late in 2005 some friends of ours introduced us to the
21st Century Academy and we started implementing strategies
we learned from the Homestudy Program and from the seminars
we attended. We were hugely impressed with this program
as it allowed both of us to give up our “day jobs”.
We are now full time investors. We have a real passion
for investing as we know it is a way that many people can
achieve their greatest goals. We therefore decided to start
Investment Success Now to help people on the path towards
these goals. It is not always a straight path and there
are sometimes potholes along the way but it is immeasurably
better than working for somebody else or hoping that somebody
will look after you when you get old.
And, the strange thing is that it is not really that difficult
to start. You just need three simple things:
- The decision to do something about it
- The education to know what to do
- The willpower to take action
We took the decision about 7 years ago and haven’t looked
back.
We continually educate ourselves – there is always something
more to learn. And, it is only a few small differences that
enable you to stand out from the crowd. We highly value
our education and are currently attending about one course
or seminar each month.
We took action! We stretched ourselves to buy our first
investment property. And we continue to stretch ourselves.
96% of people settle for an easy life. 96% of people are
dead or dead broke by the age of 65! We want to be part
of the 4% and we realise that we will only achieve that
by continuing to do things differently.
We currently invest in property and trade Options and
Futures. And we spend time on our passion: helping others
to be successful! Ian runs two local business networking
groups with some friends and Liz helps people create network
marketing businesses. And, we both help people become successful
investors!
